FAQ’s

What is the cost of x·quic OTA Savings?
x·quic uses a percentage of savings model. After the one-time set-up fee, you only pay when we save you money. There is no long-term contract, monthly, or annual fees.
What is an OTA?

OTA stands for Online Travel Agency. Companies such as Booking.com, Expedia, and Priceline Agoda help travelers book their stays at hotels all over the world.

What is a virtual card?

When a guest schedules a reservation and pays through an OTA, the OTA will then issue a card for the hotel to charge. This is referred to as the “virtual card” and its is not the customer’s card.

Do virtual cards expire?

Yes. All virtual cards if left uncollected will eventually expire and the funds will be kept by the OTAs. It is also possible for a virtual card to become inactive. These cards can be reactivated with intervention. However, depending on the OTA, after about a year’s time has passed since the reservations, the cards can no longer be reactivated and the hotel can no longer collect the funds.

How often does x·quic OTA Savings check for virtual cards?

The one-time virtual card audit will check every virtual card reservation for up to a year, looking for active virtual cards with remaining balances. After the audit, virtual cards are checked on a rolling basis. OTA Savings will never recover virtual cards that are within a 3-month window, this is to make sure that the hotel staff has an opportunity to find and charge the virtual cards themselves.

How is it possible that my staff is missing virtual cards?

There are many reasons why a virtual card may be missed. Virtual cards are not always issued promptly and details can change over time. x·quic identifies and recovers all active virtual cards with remaining balances.

What are OTA Commissions?

OTAs take a percentage of every room reservation in their invoices.

Am I overpaying on my commissions?

Over 97% of hotels overpay on commissions to a certain degree. Statistically speaking, it is highly likely that your hotel is overpaying on its commissions.

How does x·quic OTA Savings assist with commissions?

OTA Savings OTA Commissions service checks every OTA hotel collect reservation to identify exceptions and disputes them. By doing so, it will reduce the total OTA commissions in your invoice and save the hotel money. This ensures that your commissions are 100% correct, so you only pay commission based on the actual room revenue.
